This critical position is responsible for ensuring the Safety, Quality, and profitability of Media manufacturing at Lonza Walkersville. The successful candidate will lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimize asset availability, and make strategic investments in the area.
As a member of the site leadership team, this individual will contribute significantly to the strategic development of the site, serving the business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure manufacturing performance meets expectations regarding safety, quality, productivity, and on-time-in-full delivery while maintaining all-time inspection readiness.
- Lead cross-functional asset teams, including Quality, MSAT, and site supporting functions, to drive asset performance.
- Support overarching site development beyond departmental structures as a member of the site leadership team.
- Be responsible for the manufacturing organization, including hiring, coaching, qualification, performance review, and management, as well as organizational and individual development.
- Develop and deploy asset strategies aligned with business needs and goals of the Bioscience Business Unit.
- Manage capacity and costs impacting asset and site P&L, as well as effectively manage the SIOP process.
- Execute the Media improvement project portfolio, including CAPEX projects, to achieve department innovation goals and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Represent manufacturing during cGMP inspections and customer visits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
