Operations Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Operations Specialist to join our team at Lonza Pharma and Biotech in the US.
This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Maintenance: Read, understand, and train on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with GMP regulations.
- GMP Awareness: Demonstrate understanding of basic GMP principles for facilities and operations, and adhere to guidelines within a structured environment.
- Cleaning and Organization: Complete routine cleaning tasks, maintain cleaning logs, and restock consumables as needed.
- Documentation: Sign for and understand GMP documentation, including room logs, equipment logs, and balance logs.
- Hazardous Waste Management: Perform tasks related to Hazardous Waste worker responsibilities, as outlined in the Large Quantity Generator program.
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Manufacturing experience desired.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in an environment with a constant, low noise level during production.
- Literacy and Numeracy: Good standards of literacy and numeracy.
- Schedule: Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required (12-hour shifts).
- Transportation: Valid driver's license with ability to drive company vehicle and pass a background and drug screen.
- Physical Demands: Successfully pass a pre-employment physical exertion and visual acuity test. Able to lift 50 lbs. from floor and lift 25 lbs. above head while working.
- PPE: Wear powered air purifying respirator on occasion, personal protective equipment during shift (e.g., coveralls, scrubs, booties, hair and beard covers, safety glasses, gloves).
- Equipment Handling: Move heavy equipment on casters or pallet jacks, manually manipulate drums onto carts and pallets, and manually manipulate small parts.
- Mobility: Climb up and down ladders, bend, kneel, reach, squat, etc. Stand during the majority of the shift.
