The Calibration Specialist II is responsible for coordinating and supporting all aspects of biopharmaceutical calibration activities. This includes performing scheduled and unscheduled calibration, adjustment, and maintenance on instruments, utilizing calibration standards to approved procedures. The specialist will also document all calibration functions completely and accurately to cGXP requirements in both computerized management databases and on approved paper forms and datasheets.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Scheduling and performing calibration tasks according to approved procedures
- Documenting calibration results accurately and thoroughly in computerized systems and on paper records
- Providing feedback to team leads and Calibration Supervisor regarding updates and improvements to calibration procedures and methods
- Identifying and resolving complex instrument issues
- Training and guiding lower-level calibration personnel
- Supporting special projects and departmental activities
- Driving continuous process improvement in the calibration program through feedback and suggestions
- Maintaining a safe working environment with a 5S mentality
- Staying up-to-date with training qualifications through classroom, reading, and on-the-job training
