Position Summary:
Required Qualifications:
Security Clearance: TS with eligibility for SCI and NC2 access.
- Possess at least five (5) years of demonstrated relevant experience in systems engineering and system configuration management and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major study in engineering, physical science, mathematics, life sciences, computer science, or other fields of science.
- Demonstrate effectiveness in managing programmatic and technical planning and execution of integrated performance and configuration control activities.
- Demonstrate technical expertise, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks to achieve organizational goals and customer expectations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems, engineering process and integrated life cycle management.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
- Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, and manage critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of subsystems or equipment, and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of functions and personnel in support of the CM process.

Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement Configuration Management (CM) practices, procedures, and metrics that support operational and mission requirements, as measured by:
- Development of standardized CM procedures and guidelines
- Implementation of quantitative metrics to track CM performance (e.g., defect density, configuration accuracy)
- Achievement of 90% or higher compliance with established CM procedures and guidelines
- Successful integration of CM with other functional areas (e.g., engineering, logistics, testing)
- Timely and effective support of operational and mission requirements through CM activities.
Configuration Management and Planning:
- Develop, implement, and update Configuration Management Plans (CMPs) aligned with mission goals and evolving requirements.
- Maintain internal CM policies and Strategic Instructions (SIs), updated annually based on operational feedback and audit results.
- Lead quarterly CM assessments and monthly reporting to leadership on performance, gaps, and improvement actions.
- Coordinate staffing, training, and resource requirements to support CM implementation and sustainment.
- Develop and deliver CM training across the enterprise, tailored to Program Managers, Action Officers, and general staff.
- Define CM performance metrics and oversee tracking in coordination with IPTs and the Configuration Management Control Working Group (CMCWG).
Configuration Identification and Control:
- Define and maintain configuration baselines (functional, allocated, and product) and documentation across the system lifecycle.
- Establish configuration documentation requirements and identify control authorities.
- Manage engineering change proposals (ECPs), including review, disposition, and implementation coordination.
- Evaluate change impact across service lanes, minimizing unnecessary changes and ensuring alignment with operational objectives.
Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) and Verification:
- Maintain accurate CSA records and provide regular reports on change status, configuration discrepancies, and audit outcomes.
- Perform physical and functional configuration audits, ensuring systems meet documented performance and design requirements.
- Support continuous improvement through analysis of CM metrics and audit results.
CMPro Administration and Data Management:
- Serve as CMPro administrator overseeing user access, system configuration, and security compliance.
- Configure CMPro workflows, business rules, templates, and validation logic to reflect CM standards and project-specific needs.
- Populate and maintain CMPro data, including item masters, engineering documents, metadata, and periodic maintenance schedules.
- Implement data validation and cleansing routines to ensure system accuracy.
Facilities Maintenance and Reporting Support:
- Support the CMPro Facilities Maintenance Module rollout, including scheduling and historical data integration.
- Maintain master maintenance schedules and develop periodic maintenance cards.
- Generate CMPro reports and dashboards, and integrate data with Power BI for enhanced analytics and decision support.
Stakeholder Engagement and Meeting Support:
- Represent CM in key working groups (e.g., IRWG, IPTs, CMCWG), supporting agenda development and documenting meeting outputs.
- Serve as senior advisor for CM matters across stakeholder forums, promoting collaboration and CM integration with engineering, logistics, and testing functions.
- Provide end-user support, including training, troubleshooting, and the development of SOPs, guides, and job aids.
