Scope of Position :
The Refrigeration operator will be required to operate and maintain all ammonia refrigeration equipment, process freezers, cold storages, air compressors and boilers, and all support equipment.
The refrigeration operator shall support the maintenance department with emergency and assigned activities as determined by his direct supervisor.
Key Responsibilities :
1.Support production staff in operating and maintaining all refrigeration equipment, boilers, air compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
2.Troubleshoot and diagnose refrigeration equipment issues and make corrections as needed.
3.Participate in the Process Safety Management program, training, safety, administration, and working PSM activities.
4.Participate in and complete all ongoing education and safety training to complete and enhance skill sets.
5.Participate in the Emergency response plan as required.
6.Work in extreme conditions of heat and cold.
7.Pick up and move 50 lbs. safely as needed to perform job duties.
8.Maintain good verbal and written English skills.
9.Work effectively and independently with little supervision.
10.Attend regular progress review meetings with the supervisor.
11.Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
1 year of previous experience preferred.

Training
The Refrigeration Operator will participate in all internal training, including shadowing qualified operators, continuous hands-on operations and safety training, monthly general safety training, and all Process Safety Management program requirements.
The refrigeration Operator shall also participate in company-provided technical training, including GCPA (Garden City Ammonia Program), RETA (Refrigeration Engineers and Technicians Association), annual HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response), and others as identified by the Refrigeration Manager.
Salary : $25 - $30
