Maintenance Technician

Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Maintenance Technician to work out of one of our offices in Waggaman, LA.  The Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment   Essential Duties: Conduct routine maintenance according to PM planned schedules Assist the maintenance supervisor in down equipment repairs Replace small motors, hydraulic pumps and lines Learn basic equipment operations Maintain, repair, or replace plumbing fixtures Assist in equipment installs and electrical repair Proactive in learning new equipment, attend training, and/or utilize other resources to maintain new equipment, prolong equipment life, and ensure company investments are maximized. Days/Shift:  Monday thru Friday 6:00am-2:30pm Ideal Candidate: A background in electricity related to industrial equipment is essential; knowledge and experience with 208V, 240V, and 480V 3 Phase Power  Experience in a steel/ metals manufacturing or fabrication work environment.  Experience troubleshooting & problem solving to repair down machinery is essential. Certification or Education related to Industrial Electricity and/or Industrial Maintenance. Be able to stand and work in a warm environment for an 8-hour shift.  Be able to work independently and efficiently. Committed to safety and a clean work environment.  An attitude of collaboration and teamwork is a must. Be able to lift and carry heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
