What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Coach position at Cliff Drysdale/PBI?
General Purpose:
Organizing and coaching daily swim practices and meets.
Essential Duties:
- Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety.
- Plan swim practices daily and organizes a season plan for the swim team.
- Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by department manager.
- Coaches practices as directed by the Aquatics Director
- Enforces the rules of conduct.
- Communicates with parents and swimmers regarding progress and improvement.
- Attends spirit and social functions for the swim team.
- Organize and complete all swim meet entries.
- Attend swim meets at home (club) and away (off-site) pools.
- Maintains all necessary records determined by the department manager.
- Communicates with parents regarding practices, events, and team updates.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently uses hands, talks and hears. Regularly stands and sits. Occasionally walks, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls, tastes or smells. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (nonweather); near fumes or airborne particles, and near toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
CPR, First Aid Certification, various Water Safety/Instructor Certifications
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Previous swim instruction experience ASCA certification preferred.
