Job Title: New Construction Residential Foundation Wall Foreman
Position Overview:
The Foundation Wall Foreman will oversee and manage all aspects of foundation wall construction for new residential developments. This position requires a skilled and experienced individual who can lead a crew in the installation of concrete foundation walls, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and according to project specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of foundation construction techniques, experience with interpreting blueprints and engineering plans, and a proven track record of managing crews and job sites effectively. The Foundation Wall Foreman is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision & Crew Management:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a crew of laborers and tradesmen in the construction of foundation walls, ensuring all work is performed to specification.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and adjust work assignments to ensure project milestones are met.
- Manage daily crew schedules and track hours for payroll purposes.
- Construction Management:
- Oversee the layout, setup, and pouring of concrete foundation walls, including footing excavation, formwork, rebar placement, and concrete pouring.
- Ensure that all foundation walls are built according to project blueprints, engineering drawings, and building codes.
- Conduct pre-pour and post-pour inspections to verify quality and structural integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to site preparation, formwork, or concrete placement.
- Project Coordination:
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to ensure seamless workflow and prevent scheduling conflicts.
- Plan for materials, equipment, and manpower needs on a daily and weekly basis.
- Manage inventory of necessary supplies and order materials as needed to prevent delays.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure that all work adheres to company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce all safety regulations, conduct safety briefings, and ensure that proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is used.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel on site.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including site logs, crew reports, material usage, and daily job summaries.
- Communicate with project management regarding progress, potential delays, and site conditions.
- Document and report any discrepancies or quality issues, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Equipment & Tool Management:
- Manage and maintain construction equipment, tools, and machinery used for foundation wall construction.
- Ensure all equipment is used properly and returned in good condition at the end of each workday.
- Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
- Serve as the main point of contact for on-site inquiries related to foundation work.
- Address and resolve any client concerns regarding the foundation wall installation process.
- Represent the company professionally, maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, inspectors, and project managers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential foundation wall construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Extensive knowledge of concrete foundation wall construction, including forming, pouring, and finishing techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to direct and motivate a crew.
- Understanding of safety regulations and commitment to enforcing safe work practices.
- Ability to operate and supervise the use of construction equipment, such as backhoes, skid steers, and concrete pumps.
- Proficiency with basic technology for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily based on outdoor construction sites and requires physical stamina and the ability to work in varying weather conditions. The Foundation Wall Foreman will often be exposed to hazards typical of a construction environment and must strictly adhere to safety guidelines and company protocols.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
