What You Will Do/Need (Job Summary)
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the monitoring and implementation of the Quality Management System, including policies and procedures. This position oversees the effectiveness of internal processes and adheres to all requirements of the ISO 9001Standard. Overseeing the Quality Department, this position is responsible for on-going evaluations of the effectiveness of the QMS, conducting internal audits, issuing corrective actions (internal and external), providing feedback on nonconformances of products and processes, and providing support in all functions of Clifton Steel Co.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)
- Management Representative for the organization, as pertaining to the ISO 9001Standard
- Champion the Quality Management System and provide data-driven feedback to the Executive Management staff
- Champion quarterly Management Review meetings and oversee all collection and monitoring of process-specific performance metrics and trend data analysis
- Manage/Supervise the employees of the Quality Assurance and Environmental Health and Safety departments while overseeing controls/standards of product being produced off-site at subcontractor facilities
- Annual performance evaluations and reviews of the Quality Assurance staff
- Create, uphold, and fulfill requirements of the Work Instructions and Procedures within the QMS, oversee risk management assessments and preventive control implementation
- Conduct internal and process audits, communicate findings/nonconformances, properly identify/address root cause of nonconformities, and follow-up on implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions
- Fulfill requirements of customer orders, customer supplier manuals, and contractual requirements of orders
- Maintain electronic storage of data and applicable supporting documents regarding Quality requirements
- Create, verify, and/or properly store material certifications from vendors and internal heat treat operations
- Oversee on-going continual improvement initiatives within Clifton Steel Co.
- Contribute the necessary resources to specific processes including training, distribution, and evaluation
- Actively participate in resolution of product quality issues through interface with customer representatives, Operations, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, supplier representatives, and/or subcontractor representatives.
- Perform analysis on internal gaging validation against NIST standards of calibration and maintain records of calibration
- Work with Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure proper information and data is communicated throughout the facility, particularly the manufacturing floor
- Responsible for CAPA process and responding to concerns and issues through offsite visits and/or written communications
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required)
- 4yr bachelor's degree, preferably a Technical/Engineering discipline with 4 years applicable work experience
- 2yr associate degree, preferably a Technical/Engineering discipline with 5 years applicable work experience
- Certification obtained through an accredited sourced directly tied to Quality Control (CQE, CQM) and 5 years applicable work experience
- 5 -10 years of Quality-intensive work experience within an applicable industry will be considered in lieu of a formal degree or certification
- Experience in a union environment with ISO disciplines and ability to establish and enhance robust processes
- Must be able to read engineering drawings, translate requirements, and adhere to specifications
- Must be able to read and accurately use multiple gages including calipers, micrometers, taper gages, tape measures, radius gages, angle gages, Brinell hardness testers, etc.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of the position, the employee will be required to:
- Stand, walk, and sit
- Use hands repeatedly to handle, move, and/or lift objects up to 50lbs
- Twist the body and reach with hands/arms
- Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Communicate, talk, hear in an environment with reasonable noise levels
- Routinely requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, etc.
While performing the duties of the position, the work environment:
- May be exposed to uncontrolled climate on the production floor or shipping areas
- Is frequently changing between an office setting and production environment
- Is exposed to dirt, dust, and debris caused by the manufacturing processes within the facility

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position that will operate during first shift production. As the responsibilities of the position or demands of the company evolve, the hours may vary to accommodate off-shift needs.
- Hours may be adjusted to accommodate the needs of the department, the individual, or Clifton Steel Co. These hours include up to an hour lunch break, per the work demand and availability of the individual.
Travel
This position may be asked to travel to customers, suppliers, and subcontractors, but will not be asked to take extended trips lasting more than the work day.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
