- Monitor and quantify federal, state, local, and provincial laws, policies, and regulations that directly and indirectly affect Climate Control Group (CCG) products and its business interests.
- Analyze and provide documentation for CCG products that meet Buy American Act, Buy America Act, Build America Buy America Act, and other federal and state laws that require domestic content requirements for specification of CCG products.
- Stay informed about legislative and regulatory changes relevant to CCG and the impact of these policies and regulations on CCG and internal stakeholders.
- Manage, collaborate with, and maintain positive relationships at a local, state, and federal level with select industry associations, governmental officials and agencies, regulatory agencies, utilities, utility organizations, and NGO’s and effectively communicate and advocate CCG’s interests and positions as it pertains to each of these entities. Company representation/participate in key technical and regulatory committees for standards and regulations affecting company products.
- Develop strategies for alignment with current or upcoming environmental and energy regulations with company goals and priorities.
- Engage leaders and functional teams to develop and implement departmental policies and procedures related to compliance with published regulations and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements including filing necessary reports and disclosures as required by law.
- Collaborate with the Regulatory Engineer to ensure technical compliance aligns with external policy strategies for effective compliance and advocacy.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, or Related MS Preferred.
- 5 years of experience in HVAC design and application
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite products.
- None required.
- Knowledge of HVAC system design and applications; familiarity with the systems component design, integration, and interactions.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and heat exchanger design.
- Hands-on skills and experience in working with laboratory equipment, test stands and instrumentation.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing methods used in HVAC&R field; industrial experience is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of system controls, sequence of operations and electrical wiring methods.
- Familiarity with data acquisition, advanced experimental techniques, instrumentation, calibration, measurement systems, uncertainty analysis and DoE concepts.
- Intimate familiarity with industry standards, building codes and agency compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in regulatory processes including rulemakings, navigating codes and standard setting bodies and stakeholder groups. Ability to educate internal teams on likely scenarios and pathways most effective for engagement in the process.
