Climate Engineering Companies is a Heavy-Duty Truck, Trailer and Transport Refrigeration Unit repair company with multiple locations. We are looking for a highly motivated Auto/Truck/Trailer Paint Technician that will be responsible for estimating jobs, preparing and painting various types of vehicles at our newly constructed nineteen bay shop located in Cheshire, CT.
We are looking for individuals who can work independently to perform the following duties:
- Surface preparation: Remove accessories, mask off parts not to be painted, and clean, sand, and fill surfaces
- Mixing paints: Match colors and mix paints to match the vehicle's existing finish
- Applying paint: Apply primer, finish coats, and other paints using brushes, rollers, sprays, and solvents
- Repairing surfaces: Fix scratches, chips, and dents, and perform minor repairs like sanding and grinding
- Applying decals: Apply decals, letters, seals, and trim
- Maintaining equipment: Clean and maintain spray guns and other painting equipment
- Keeping records: Keep time and work records, and maintain detailed records of materials used
- Adhering to safety: Wear protective equipment and adhere to all safety rules and regulations
- Staying up to date: Keep up with industry trends and techniques, and new products and working methods
- Collaborating: Collaborate with management at the location
- Providing customer service: Demonstrate commitment to customer service and satisfaction
Requirements:
- Experience: We are looking for individuals with proven experience as a Body Paint Technician or in a similar role
- Paint Knowledge: A strong understanding of different paint types, color matching, and application techniques is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using mixing systems and other paint-related tools is crucial for this role.
- Attention to Detail
- Teamwork: The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is important.
- Time Management: Excellent time management skills will enable you to handle multiple projects efficiently.
- Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to adhering to them is essential.
- Physical Demands: As a painter, you should have the physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in various positions.
- Organizational and time management skills
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen and have a clear driving record.
