TITLE: Chiller Technician- Climate Solutions
REPORTS TO: Service Manager
Job Duties / General Requirements
The Chiller Technician is our highest level of Service Technician. The Chiller Technician is capable of diagnosing and repairing all levels of HVAC equipment (all proficiencies of a Service Technician III), including large and complex chiller plants. The Chiller Technician has at least two certifications in the repair of chiller plants such as McQuay or Daiken and is capable of complete teardowns and rebuilds.

The Chiller Technician is capable of diagnosing and repairing all levels of HVAC equipment (all proficiencies of a Service Technician III), including large and complex chiller plants. The Chiller Technician has at least two certifications in the repair of chiller plants such as McQuay or Daiken and is capable of complete teardowns and rebuilds.
- Over 5 years’ field experience plus specialized training.
- Identify, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer locations via dispatcher:
- Unitary products [anything from 1-ton mini splits to 150-ton package units], Ability to troubleshoot VFDs, Control issues, Compressor change-outs, Standard maintenance procedures
- Boilers: Perform Combustion Analysis, troubleshoot water and air flow issues. Repair and verify correct operation of boilers.
- Chillers- Diagnose Compressor, motor and starter issues with Wye Delta, AFD and solid-state starters, Tear down and rebuild as necessary compressors, oil pumps and starters. Perform leak searches on low pressure chillers, Megha-Ohm compressor motors. Troubleshoot water flow issues control issues related to chiller operation. Perform vibration and oil analyses. Experience in Turbor Core and Centrifugal compressors a plus
- Control Valves- Troubleshoot signal and control issues related to control valves.
- Heat Exchangers- Troubleshoot water flow issues and determine deficiencies in performance issues. Tear down, clean and reassemble with new gaskets.
- Provide all information from each service call to the dispatcher before leaving job site and document work by accurately completing paperwork and maintaining files.
- Provide initial and follow-up training at customer sites.
- Expand business by discussing other services available
- Must be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft / Word / Excel / Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license, pre-hire drug screen required and ability to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Salary : $35 - $65
