This opportunity is with a repair and refurbishment business driving sustainability and innovation. Focusing on wind turbine manufacturing, they are dedicated to reducing carbon footprints and promoting greener practices.
As an Electric Motor Technician, you’ll play a vital role in refurbishing unserviceable motors to "as new" condition using cutting-edge techniques. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the chance to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment where your skills will directly contribute to sustainable solutions.
Applications from the automotive industry and/or energy industry are encouraged.
This role requires experience with AC electric motors.
The company is on an exciting trajectory, this is an opportunity to be an early hire and a future leader as the business grows. The role is workshop based, onsite in Houston. Hours 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
The Responsibilities
- Overhaul electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
- Maintain high-quality standards for in-house refurbishments and oversee subcontracted work.
- Perform regular maintenance on machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct health and safety checks and report as necessary.
- Support warehousing operations, including forklift use, stock management, and procedure development.
Essential Skills
- 5 years’ experience in overhauling AC electric motors.
- Expertise in motor rewinding, fault diagnosis, and testing.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driving licence.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of motor brands such as ABB, Lafert, MGM, Siemens, and VEM.
- Forklift driving experience.
