SITE TECHNICIAN

REPORTS TO: District Instructional Technology Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or the equivalent; expertise in field of technology required. Access to a personal computer and reliable internet
JOB GOAL: Provide support for developing, achieving, and maintaining the highest quality education program and related school services. Work with Coastal Plains staff to ensure software and technical competence in program delivery.
DUTIES:
- Support technology needs of all departments and assist in the selection, installation, and start-up of all educational technology software.
- Manage and coordinate all technology applications around and within the site.
- Supervise installation and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and peripherals incorporating the various configurations used in the site location.
- Monitor acceptable use policies for computer usage.
- Provide technical support for school personnel on hardware, software, and operating system software in system facilities.
- Participates in maintenance and repair schedule of computer hardware.
- Monitor network security.
- Investigate and solve reported problems dealing with technology issues.
- Collaborate with site level administration in the delivery of information and technology services to provide a concerted effort in the implementation and integration of technology into day-to-day activities.
- Participate in workshops and professional learning activities and apply what is learned to the job.
- Comply with site, system, state, and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics as related to job requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and material.
- Perform routine duties and tasks with little or no direction or supervision.
- Maintain a sufficient level of knowledge regarding relevant technical developments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
PART- TIME – Hours to be On-call while site is open to address technology issues
At the opening of a new site:
- Attend initial training with staff
- Attend opening day of school
- Attend first day of EOC testing each month
