What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Clerk/Technician position at Clinic Pharmacy?
Responsibilities:
- Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications to patients
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Enter prescription information into the computer system accurately
- Answer phone calls and address customer inquiries or concerns
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Perform medication compounding and packaging under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials
- Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards
Skills:
- Pharmacy technician certification or license required
- Proficient in medical terminology and abbreviations
- Experience with IV infusion and medication administration
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for sterile compounding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in prescription processing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including critical care settings
- Familiarity with different types of inhalation medications is a plus
- Prior experience in acute care or hospital pharmacy is preferred
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient service
