Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
The medical assistant assists healthcare professionals in providing patient care and administrative support within a medical office, clinic, or other healthcare settings.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
• Record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints accurately.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications, injections, or immunizations as directed by healthcare providers.
• Perform basic wound care and dressing changes.
• Provide patient education and instructions as per healthcare provider's guidance.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests such as urine analysis, blood draws, and point-of-care testing.
• Administrative Duties:
• Greet patients and visitors, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments.
• Maintain medical records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
• Handle insurance forms, billing, and coding procedures.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up appointments.
• Manage inventory of medical and office supplies, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and common areas.
• Follow standard precautions and infection control protocols.
• Participate in continuing education to stay updated on medical procedures, regulations, and technologies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant training prpgram.
• Certification or registration as a medical assistant .
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic medical terminology and computer skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassion, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with patients.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and administrative tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
