Classroom Connection Day School - Clinical Connections is pleased to announce an opening for an IL licensed and Type 73 certified Social Worker to work in our Therapeutic Day School and our after school clinic.
About Classroom Connection Day School: The Classroom Connection Day School is a nonpublic special education facility, certified by the Illinois State Board of Education, for children with special learning needs. By using a wide variety of methodologies and programs to maximize each student's learning, we are able to create and offer an environment where children are motivated to explore and learn. The Classroom Connection philosophy stresses the importance of multi-modal learning and relationship-based education. We strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment for students to gain trust in the educational process and put faith in themselves as learners Clinical Connections is acollaborative, therapy-based, pediatric clinic and private day school. We provide outstanding therapeutic and academic services to children who struggle with a wide variety of disabilities.
We are looking for a Full or Part-time reliable and experienced Social Worker to join our team in both a private day school setting as well as an after school clinic setting. We seek a candidate with the ability to:
1) Work with a variety of learning disorders, prescribe remediation and evaluate student progress and benchmarks;
2) Function as a member of an educational team, collaborate with staff, support personnel, community agencies, and parents;
3) Effectively communicate diagnoses and proposed treatment in a manner easily understood; and
4) Approach problems objectively and be supportive flexible and receptive to change.
Under managerial direction of the Therapeutic Director, the Social Worker will utilize leadership, advocacy and collaboration to provide prevention, assessment, and remediation services for students who exhibit difficulties in the areas of adult interaction peer interaction, feelings/emotions, coping/compliance, and self-concept/social role. These services are designed to help children meet their educational goals. You will play an integral role in:
1) Collaborating and consulting with classroom teachers and other school personnel to manage disorders;
2) Planning evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students, and adjusting intervention strategies based upon student performance;
3) Designing specific, individualized programs for each student in coordination with IEP goals;
4) Maintaining accurate records of individual social work programs an preparing periodic reports as required;
5) Conducting social work screenings, administering formal and informal assessments, and making recommendations regarding the need for social work services; and
6) Attending pertinent meetings and providing consultation to parents, other school personnel and outside private psychologists and psychiatrists, as needed.
Additionally, as a therapist for our after-school clinic, you will provide social work services in individual and small group settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who have special needs and children with autism, as well as the ability to modify/adapt general education curriculum. Employees in this position will be required to work in indoor and outdoor environments and come in direct contact with students, staff members and the public.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
