Boarding Home Line Staff Part Time

General Job Description:

Boarding Home Line Staff members oversee the day to day activities of clients living in the Mental Health Boarding Home program. They monitor for safety, support cleanliness, and help to create an environment for clients that is warm and welcoming while maintaining professionalism. Line staff also participate in food preparation and service. They are responsible for documenting client’s daily activities and communicating if concerns arise, so that the client’s ACT Team can offer additional support.

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of mental health issues and experience in the behavioral health field.

· Must have/obtain a food handler’s permit.

· Ability to remain calm and engage clients in the process of de-escalation.

· Ability to monitor clients, the building, and the grounds to support identification of safety concerns early.

· Capable of developing professional relationships and maintaining appropriate boundaries

· Ability to complete documentation professionally and within required timeframes

· Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formats

· Ability to respond to crisis situations professionally

· Ability to pass background check

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Arrive for scheduled shifts on time and prepared to work

· Monitor client activity

· Regularly walk around building and grounds to identify potential risks

· Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage client behavior

· Facilitate med pass

· Prepare and serve meals according to established menu

· Participate in activities with clients

· Housekeeping tasks to help maintain the cleanliness of the facility

· Maintain boundaries as a professional while developing supportive relationships with clients

· Engage in coaching with clients to support behavioral change when necessary

· Document daily events and communicate with supervisor as well as community partners about client progress and/or concerns

· Complete training in required areas annually to maintain proficiency

· Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 30 lbs, perform basic maintenance/cleaning tasks

There will be a $1 shift differential for hours worked between midnight and 8 am.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
