General Job Description:
The Boarding Home Manager oversees the day to day operation of the Mental Health Boarding Home program. They schedule and supervise staff, ensure that licensing requirements are upheld, and support the overall safety and cleanliness of the home. The manager also oversees food service including menu planning and food ordering. They are expected to set an example for interacting with clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses, and aid their team in being effective supports for this population.
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of mental health issues and experience in the behavioral health field.
· Experience managing employees.
· Ability to organize tasks to ensure that high priority tasks are completed on time and accurately.
· Ability to operate within an established budget
· Capable of developing professional relationships and maintaining appropriate boundaries
· Ability to complete service documentation professionally and within required timeframes
· Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formats
· Ability to respond to crisis situations professionally
· Must have/obtain a ServSafe Certification
· Ability to pass a background check
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure that appropriate staffing ratios are met to provide safety and structure to the home
· Create and post staff schedules
· Participate in the interview, hiring, and training process for new staff
· Monitor staff performance and offer coaching to support staff development
· Write menus and order food & household products, maintaining the established budget
· Coordinate completion of maintenance in the building
· Participate in the intake process to ensure that clients have a positive experience and that all necessary documentation has been completed
· Engage in the supervision of clients in day to day activities
· Utilize de-escalation skills as necessary to manage client behavior
· Support a positive and safe environment in the home by following policy and procedure established for the boarding home program
· Communicate with ACT/FACT Teams regularly and professionally to establish a partnership that supports the clients
· Communicate any concerns about clients or the functioning of the program to the COO to aid in solution finding
· Complete training in required areas annually to maintain proficiency
· Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 30 lbs, perform basic maintenance/cleaning tasks
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
