Job Responsibilities
The Hospital Speech Language Pathologist will work with a team of experienced Speech Pathologists and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide quality care to patients with a wide variety of diagnoses. The Speech Pathology team focuses on assessing patients with difficulty swallowing or speaking, who may be on Acute Rehabilitation, Medical-Surgical, or Intensive Care Units.
Key Accountabilities
The successful candidate will assess patients' ability to safely swallow food, make recommendations for dietary changes, supervise muscle strengthening exercises, and document patient progress. They will also report any changes to the healthcare team and provide guidance to patients and staff on effective communication techniques.
