One of North Georgia’s top medical centers is seeking an Assistant Director Inpatient Lab to run a team and independently perform specimen testing, venipuncture, and blood draws for all age groups.
The laboratory at this acute care facility is a fully accredited, full-service facility offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, available 24/7 for patient convenience. Services include Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Transfusion Services, Hematology, Immunology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation. The laboratory is accredited by CLIA, Medicaid Services, and The Georgia Department of Community Health.
The ideal candidate for Assistant Director Inpatient Lab will thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments. Responsibilities include handling phone inquiries, data entry, departmental correspondence, and courier services between departments. Proficiency in venipuncture, phlebotomy, and laboratory equipment is essential, along with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. A high school diploma or GED and an associate’s degree are required, with ASCP or AMT certification. One year of MLT experience is preferred. This role involves high exposure to body fluids, blood-borne pathogens, and chemicals. The position requires 12-hour shifts and offers an in-person work environment.
