The Nurse Director Labor and Delivery will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, and will oversee key departments, including 2 Labor and Delivery rooms, 2 Postpartum rooms, 2 OB emergency rooms and the hospital’s renowned level 1 Nursery. In the role, the Labor and Delivery Nurse Director will be playing a pivotal part in ensuring top-notch care for both mothers and children, while also leading a team that delivers evidence based and quality care.
The RN Director Labor and Delivery will be responsible for the daily operations and management of the Women and Children Services Department. This includes coordinating and overseeing patient care, while ensuring the integration of the nursing process in planning, evaluating and refining services to meet the hospital goals. The Nurse Director Labor & Delivery will also guide and mentor the nursing staff, to guarantee clinical competency safety and compliance with the regulatory requirements. The Labor and Delivery Nurse Director will achieve these goals by promoting a collaborative and supportive environment. The leadership of the RN Director Labor and Delivery will make sure that there is the highest quality, patient centered care across all of the services areas, from Labor and Delivery to Postpartum care and Pediatric services.
In addition to clinical oversight, the Labor and Delivery Nurse Director will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to help develop comprehensive care plans for patients and families, establishing both the clinical and psychosocial needs are met. The Labor and Delivery Nurse Director will also be responsible for the continuous promotion of quality improvement, optimization of patient care, and leading initiatives that drive positive outcomes.
