As the Neonatal ICU Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of this 50 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, ensuring that high-quality nursing services are provided and that quality standards are met. You will lead a multidisciplinary team consisting of Registered Nurses, Unit Clerks, Equipment Technicians, and other healthcare providers. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining an environment that supports professional nursing practices and fosters teamwork and excellence. Reporting directly to the Director of NICU you will assist in overseeing all day to day operations across a dynamic team of more than 100 FTEs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Organize and direct the work of the NICU, ensuring effective and efficient nursing services. Manage, supervise, and coordinate patient care on a 24-hour basis.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with clinical care standards and hospital policies. Promote regulatory standards and customer service expectations.
- Team Development: Develop programs to foster clinical development from novice to expert. Mentor and support staff through changes, acting as a professional role model.
- Patient & Family Advocacy: Interface with patients and families to ensure care meets their expectations. Serve as an advocate to ensure optimal patient care.
- Operational Efficiency: Assist with budgeting, monitor resource utilization, and develop action plans to ensure fiscal efficiency and satisfaction with patient care delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote and monitor quality control, performance improvement, safety, and infection control initiatives.

Requirements:
- Experience: Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting is required. Must have demonstrated leadership skills in a NICU (and/or PICU) setting.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Texas.
- Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required; certification in NICU specialty preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of neonatal care practices and standards.
