Job Summary
The Manager of Pharmacy will join a prestigious, non-profit hospital with over 400 beds, recognized for providing exceptional patient care and fostering a supportive and innovative environment for healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services across all patient care areas.
- Directly and indirectly supervise over 30 employees, managing staffing needs, including recruiting, interviewing, and supervising pharmacy personnel to meet patient care requirements.
- Ensure all personnel comply with hospital policies related to HR and personnel management, including PEP, FMLA, ADA, EAP, and more.
- Coordinate and supervise pharmacy programs throughout the hospital, addressing operational issues such as workflows, supply usage, and equipment utilization.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and ensure patient safety.
- Manage the department's operations, working closely with the Director of Pharmacy to balance clinical effectiveness with fiscal responsibility and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Leadership and Development
- Provide leadership and guidance on the development of in-service training programs to enhance staff education.
- Foster a culture of professional growth and competency within the pharmacy team.
- Serve on multidisciplinary committees and collaborate with hospital leadership to resolve problems and plan for the future of pharmacy services.
