The new Inpatient Case Management Nursing Director at this 200 bed hospital will discover an environment of collaboration, communication, and compassionate care. You’ll guide the operations of a fast-paced case management department with an experienced hand, overseeing both the clinical and administrative aspects of this role.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), and collaborating closely with a Regional Care Management Vice President, you’ll have a strong grasp of the financial and budgetary aspects of actively managing a department, in addition to a familiarity with the financial environment of hospitals and healthcare in general. The trends, laws, and regulations that create our modern healthcare system will be second nature for the RN Inpatient Case Management Director. Although not a clinical position per se, the Nursing Director of Case Management will need a background and strong experience with the clinical issues that arise during patient care. You’ll analyze how the hospital utilizes its resources, and you’ll have opportunities to affect tangible change in the ways throughput is addressed.
A key element of this crucial role is your ability to communicate effectively across departmental and organization boundaries. Beyond regular reporting on quality, utilization, and care transition metrics to the hospital’s executive team, the Inpatient RN Care Management Director also be asked to provide information and assistance to NGOs and the community. Using internal and external tools, various communication channels, and a strong sense of responsibility, you’ll be able to positively impact care delivery to this community.
