This 300 bed facility has also earned awards for Patient Excellence and Safety.
The Surgical Services Manager will report to the Administrative Nursing Director of Perioperative services. This person will be supported by three CNOR Operating Room Assistant Nurse Managers, as well as a tenured and experienced team of Surgery Charge RNs.
The energy in this 28-OR Surgical Services Unit can only be described as fast-paced, which makes the support that everyone offers that much more important. Perioperative Services has earned great distinction for its General Surgery services line, and the new Nurse Manager will have the opportunity to manage that program, as well as many others. The Surgery Department averages over 15,000 procedures annually in a wide range of specialties, including Cardiothoracic, Orthopedic, GYN, and Robotics.
The Surgical Services Nurse Manager is expected to have knowledge on the principles and practices of Perioperative Nursing and Patient Care. The Manager will be responsible for serving as a role model, initiator in problem-solving, decision-making processes, delegating, and communicating information to the nursing staff. The Surgical Services Nurse Manager will develop clear performance expectations and resolve performance problems. In addition to these aspects, the Manager will also help develop and maintain the departmental budget, as well as regulatory compliance.
