The Women and Infant Services Nursing Professional Development Practitioner will report directly to the Manager of Education and Development. Supported by other educators and nurse managers and directors working on educational efforts for their staff as well, this person will help grow acute care staff throughout the facility to ensure safe and quality care is provided by all.
The Women and Infant Services Nursing Professional Development Practitioner will be in charge of conducting initial and continuing education learning needs assessments of individual nurses and groups of nurses within the Women and Infant Services Unit. This involves keeping staff up to date with current best practices and making sure they are following guidelines set by the hospital. In addition, the position requires developing educational programs for nurses all along the spectrum of their careers that are creative and align with the hospital’s guidelines, needs, and budget. The Women and Infant Services Nursing Professional Development Practitioner will also need to evaluate their educational programs upon completion to make sure the purpose and objectives are achieved.
