What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist In Charge position at Clinical Solutions LLC?
This position reports directly to the COO. This position will be physically located at the TN Department of Corrections Pharmacy at 7575 Cockrill Bend Blvd in Nashville.
Duties include:
- Actively participate and assist the TNDOC in maintaining and enforcing the State's drug formulary, protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Assess prescription/medication order(s) against inmate medical profile for improper drug selection, under-dosage, dosage, over-dosage, drug interactions, dosage form and delivery system.
- Assess prescription against TNDOC Formulary for compliance and refer non-formulary requests as required for approval when necessary.
- Provide consultations to TNDOC medical staff.
- Implement and/or maintain medication delivery systems in accordance with directives from the TNDOC P&T Committee
- Communicates well and maintains positive client relationships and answers any operational related calls.
- Maintain loss prevention controls.
Compliance
- Work with Pharmacy Manager to assure workflows, job assignments and productions standards are addressed in operational policies & procedures.
- Participate in CQI TN Department of Corrections meetings.
- Maintains all records of drugs and narcotics as required by state and federal law.
- Maintains procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs.
- Actively leads any measures to prevent and/or correct issues with drug records, quality assurance, controlled substances, drug disposal, product recalls, and any other items outlined by rules from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy.
- Maintains all licenses & certifications of all pharmacy staff.
- Maintains checklist for all required items on TN Board of Pharmacy audit form.
- Perform semi-annual mock audits to prepare for TN Board of Pharmacy formal audit.
- Create and Implement policies and procedures related to pharmacy operations that guide and support the mission of CSP.
General
- All duties performed should be coordinated effectively with the Executive Vice President and Pharmacy Manager and others as necessary to ensure all CSP objectives and customer expectations are being met.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current TN Pharmacist license in good standing.
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD.
- 2-4 years' experience in management of pharmacy operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Language Skills:
Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral English communication and to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and vendors.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, walk and stand.
- Occasional physical effort with light to medium objects. Occasionally required to lift objects 10-25 pounds.
- Able to reach, carry, finger, grasp and feel objects related to duties.
