CSO is looking for a Shift Supervisor for our Safe Haven Program.
Our Safe Haven is a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week fully supported transitional housing program. Safe Haven provides beds for chronically homeless individuals residing in Pittsfield MA (Berkshire County). This program is peer supported and staffed with Counselors and Case Managers.
This position will provide leadership and coordination functions for the counseling staff in collaboration with the management team.

- Provide mentorship for new employees in orientation, serving as a role model for other program staff
- Champion education and training programs for Counselor Staff
- For shift in charge, coordinate food and menu planning including assistance with shopping lists, purchase and delivery, and organization/storage of food supplies under supervision of director; coordinate with nursing staff and Director regarding general and specific nutritional needs of the residents
- Ensure access to personal care supplies and products for clients/guests
- Provide guidance for all routine employee-related matters and confer with supervisor on non-routine personnel or other related matters affecting employees; address personnel issues as needed during shift and notify supervisor of issues and outcomes
- Support schedule development and staff work assignments; provide feedback to supervisor regarding employee performance as observed and managed during shifts
- Serve as point of contact for building, technical, client/guest, or operational issues that arise during shift; address non-critical issues directly and notify supervisor or other management staff in accordance with established procedures
- Serve as point of contact for staff callouts after hours and weekends, and coordinate appropriate coverage with management in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide shift supervisory cross-program coverage as directed
- Participate in the CSO Trauma Informed Care initiative and quality improvement initiatives.
- Establish a 1:1 therapeutic relationship with each program client
- Provide support and safety for clients utilizing the program
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including self-care, cooking, recreation, and medication responsibilities according to individual treatment plans
- Prepare meals during shift and coordinate shift duties with other counselor working shift during meal preparation
- Share observations, interactions, and knowledge to develop 24-hour care plans

- High School Diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Human Services related work or internship
- Previous supervisory experience (preferred)
- Experience working in residential settings (preferred)
- Computer proficiency
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
