Key Responsibilities:
- Taking complete and accurate personal health histories, symptoms, physical conditions, or other diagnostic information
- Performing screening physical examinations, including assessments and recommendations for further evaluation
- Performing clinical procedures such as gynecological exams, injections, immunizations, biopsies, IUD insertions, Nexplanon implants and removals, family planning, suturing, taking cultures, etc.
- Providing prenatal, intrapartum, or postpartum care to patients
- Screens laboratory and x-ray results, bringing abnormalities to physician's attention as needed
- Diagnoses and treats, within limits of clinical competency, conditions requiring short or long-term management and coordinates follow-up care of patients
- Consults with or refers patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise
- Identifies patients' educational needs and assists with appropriate instruction
- Keeps abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems such as Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private sources
Requirements:
- A current unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California State Board of Registered Nursing
- Certified Nurse Midwife License to practice in the State of California strongly desired
- Proficiency with use of computers and experience with use of electronic health records
- Must be a team player, be detail-oriented, self-motivated
