What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wound Care Nurse Practitioner position at Clinity Talent?
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team on a locums basis. This position involves evaluating, planning, and directing treatment plans of residents in senior living facilities and in-home wound care. The role will require 4-6 hours per week, preferably Mondays and Tuesdays (but can be flexible). Must be able to commute to Sebring, FL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely perform wound debridement using sharp, enzymatic, autolytic, or surgical methods at the patient's location.
- Apply and manage topical wound care and related wound management products.
- Direct and recommend associated services to enhance wound healing outcomes, including labs, radiologic tests, vascular tests, referrals, and more.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and suggest suitable follow-ups.
- Prescribe necessary medications, Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or supplies, aligned
- with the supervising physician's collaborative agreement.
- Conduct risk assessments for Diabetic Foot Ulcers in diabetic patients as per ADA guidelines.
- Educate patients about wound management and ensure referring physicians are updated on the latest wound care practices.
- Act as a resource for health-related decision-making, planning, and policy creation.
- Collaborate with staff to determine resident needs and develop strategies to address them.
- Ensure regular skin sweeps on a quarterly basis.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted Florida license
- Successful completion of an accredited wound care program
- State-approved from the Medical Board to perform medical tasks
- Must be enrolled as a provider with Medicaid and Medicare in Florida

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
