Job Summary :
This position is for an entry level or lateral hire. The Streets Maintenance Worker is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Clinton City's streets, sidewalks, and related infrastructure. This position involves operating a variety of tools and equipment to ensure the safety and usability of city streets. The Streets Maintenance Worker plays a crucial role in the upkeep of public spaces, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.

Key Responsibilities :
- Street Maintenance : Perform regular maintenance on city streets, including pothole repair, crack sealing, and resurfacing.
- Snow and Ice Removal : Operate snowplows, salt spreaders, and other equipment to ensure streets and sidewalks are safe during winter weather conditions.
- Sidewalk and Curb Repair : Repair and replace damaged sidewalks, curbs, and gutters to ensure public safety.
- Traffic Control : Set up and maintain traffic control devices, such as cones, barricades, and signs, during construction and maintenance activities.
- Equipment Operation : Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment, including backhoes, loaders, and dump trucks, for various street maintenance tasks.
- Inspections : Conduct routine inspections of streets and related infrastructure to identify and report needed repairs or maintenance.
- Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
- Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Other Duties : Perform other related duties as assigned by the Streets Maintenance Supervisor or Public Works Director.
Qualifications :
Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
