What are the responsibilities and job description for the ABA Instructional Assistant position at Clinton Elementary?
Clinton Elementary School is seeking a ABA Instructional Assistant to work with students who receive special education services in the elementary school. This position is accountable for providing assistance to the classroom teacher and/or other certified personnel, to support the instruction of all students (with moderate to intensive special needs and regular education) and to facilitate educational access for students who may have significant cognitive, social/emotional, behavioral or daily living skills challenges.
Job Responsibilities of the ABA IA include:
•Aiding in planning and implementing academic and behavioral programming for assigned student in collaboration with other members of the team
•Recording and summarizing data
•Implementing programs including discrete trials
•Meeting regularly with team members
•Carrying over therapies (OT, PT, Speech and Language)
•Modifying general education curriculum/expectations to meet student’s needs and skill level to insure successful inclusion experiences
•Actively participate in ongoing training
•Work closely with other team members
•Perform duty work (lunch, recess, line, and bus) as assigned by the teacher/administration
•Address and handle students with behavioral issues following directions from the teacher; perform de-escalation strategies and physical supports (as a last resort), with non-violent physical restraint strategies.
Training will be provided.
ABA Specialized Instructional Assistants work during the school year and for 24 days during the Extended School Year (2025).
