Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Completion of an accredited paramedic program.
Experience: 0-2 years' experience in an acute care setting preferred; not required.
Certificates, License, Registrations: Successful passing of NREMT exam. BLS for the Healthcare Provider required. ACLS and PALS required.

- Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
- Ability to contribute to the overall assessment by conducting focused assessments on all patients, including reassessment per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patient populations.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduce the likelihood of medical/ health care errors.
- Ability to contribute to the plan of care.
- Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to patients' needs.
- Communicates effectively and appropriately to RN, charge nurse, medical staff, coworkers, and leadership.
- Demonstrates an ability to assist providers as appropriate.
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function well in stressful situations.
- Treats patients, visitors, and coworkers with respect and dignity.
- Documentation meets current standards and policies.
- Appearance and workspace are neat and clean; adheres to dress code.
- Always maintain patient confidentiality.
- Completes annual required education/ competencies.
