What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at Clive Coffee?
Clive Coffee is the leader in the luxury home espresso market. We are looking for an experienced creative and self-starter who can help take Clive Coffee and our larger brand portfolio to the next level. The Graphic Designer is responsible for maintaining the Clive Coffee, Misto, and LUCCA brands, as well as any other brands the company might acquire along the way. They will collaborate with our cross-functional teams to develop and maintain our online presence, ensuring that our digital platforms and Portland showroom reflect the sophistication and elegance of our high-end products. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, they will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects, contributing to the evolution of our brand. They will ensure our brands maintain a consistent look and feel across all mediums and channels, in accordance with our brand Style Guides. This person is highly knowledgeable, proactive, thorough, organized, approachable, conscientious, and is a real partner to Clive employees by acting as an authority on all things brand-related.

Areas of Responsibility & Accountability:
- Collaborate with teams at Clive Coffee and Misto on all creative projects
- Design and implement various materials for print and digital collateral (emails, social media, product materials, iconography, branding, and more)
- Design, draft, and create educational, product, and promotional emails in Figma (a strong understanding of visual hierarchy and information organization is important)
- Social media content creation, scheduling, and analysis
- Maintain a beautiful home page, collaborating with teams on what content or products need to be pushed
- Manage any design or imagery on the site, including seasonal site illustrations, updating imagery or design on blogs, PDPs, and the home page
- Collaborate with photographers and videographers to create visual assets, including animations, video thumbnails, and text overlay
- Photo retouching and manipulation of images
- Maintain the company’s digital asset management (DAM) system (currently Image Relay)
- Manage the overall organization, uploading, and tagging of images
- Ensure brand guidelines are being followed across all customer-facing content, including websites, email marketing, social media, print materials, and web applications
- Collaborate with Clive’s Customer Experience team in Portland to maintain a showroom that reflects our brand identity, ensuring signage, artwork, wallpaper, plants, flowers, and displays are on point
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field
- 2 - 4 years of experience in graphic design is preferred
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, Sketch, and other graphic design software
- Strong understanding of email marketing design best practices
- Familiarity with Shopify, HTML, and CSS preferred
- Experience with UI/UX or a desire to learn is a plus
- Working knowledge of illustration and animation preferred
- A compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
- Detail-oriented with excellent asset management skills
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and content organization
- The ability to follow the creative direction of the company as well as brand guidelines
- The ability to adapt to work with deadlines and shift priorities quickly based on the constantly changing landscape of a fast-growing company
- The willingness to learn and be passionate about home espresso
- The ability to effectively work collaboratively across teams
- The mentality to come to work each morning with the attitude of “How can I help?”
