Position Overview
The Fabricator position is a key role in the manufacturing of CLM Vibetech products. Primary responsibilities include interpreting a variety of blueprints to complete tasks and being able to efficiently weld/fabricate with good quality and attention to detail in a timely manner.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints accurately.
- Experienced in MIG/TIG welding process and can pass CLM Vibetech welding test.
- Can efficiently build structural weldments and sheet metal weldments to blueprints, keeping them square and dimensionally correct within /- 1/16”.
- Able to use press brake, shear, rolling machines and hold tolerances accordingly.
- Is familiar with common sheet metal layout and how to utilize material thickness in proper selection of press brake tooling.
- Can use and understand multiple measuring tools (i.e. tape measure, dial calipers).
- Is knowledgeable in common rigging practices and can pass test.
- Responsible for staying on task to keep workflow through the plant and meet production schedule requirements.
- Follows directions and does not waiver from blueprints unless approved by supervisor.
- Team player and willing to help in other areas.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Dependable and efficient; strong work ethic and highly self-motivated.
- Provide high quality work with attention to detail.
- Understands and can perform basic shop math.
- Well organized with professional communication skills.
- Perform routine maintenance on welders and other equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area, machinery and shop.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Must have basic personal hand tools.
- Blueprint reading/interpretation.
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Can pass forklift driving and safety test.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a structural fabricator or sheet metal fabricator.
