Position Overview

The Sandblasting Technician position is a key role in the manufacturing of CLM Vibetech products. Primary responsibilities include abrading surfaces of metal to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt to impart a specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure department quality, while maintaining equipment and a level of organization.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to operate sandblasting equipment under limited supervision.
• Perform sandblasting on all products.
• Regulate and maintain proper air pressures.
• Maintain production rate of acceptable quality.
• Maintain a clean work area and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on sandblasting equipment.
• Knowledgeable in common rigging practices.
• Able to use power tools effectively in a safe manner.
• Able to work overtime as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience working in an industrial environment required, sandblasting experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic and highly self-motivated.
• Dependable and efficient. Provide high quality work with attention to detail.
• Well organized with the ability to complete work on time and meet production schedule requirements.
• Understand and follow all relevant safety procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions, ask questions for clarity and take direction from supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
• Can pass forklift driving and safety test.
