Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipuncture and specimen collection, ensuring accurate processing and handling of samples. This role is crucial in supporting laboratory operations and providing high-quality patient care in a clinical or hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood collection.
- Collect, label, and process specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and specimen data.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control procedures.
- Monitor and record vital signs as part of patient assessment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Stay updated on laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and physiology knowledge.
Experience
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or hospital setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including specimen collection processing.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and medical terminology is advantageous.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic physiology is beneficial.
Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
