Job Summary | We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial, self-driven individual who enjoys working with people and has a passion for empowering the next generation of informed and engaged citizens. The main responsibilities of the speaker engagement coordinator are to maintain a robust network of volunteer speakers who address students during Close Up programs and to develop strategic partnerships with organizations that support Close Up’s mission and work. Additionally, this person provides research and administrative support to the External Affairs team. The person in this position will report to the director of strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Manage and book weekly speaking engagements for all Close Up programs.
- Maintain a database of volunteer speakers and keep it up to date on Close Up happenings as needed.
- Attend program events to provide on-the-ground or virtual support.
- Research potential partners for the External Affairs team.
- Assist in partnership management as needed.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- At least two years of experience working in project management, marketing, and/or communications (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Availability for evening and weekend programming as needed.

- An ability to build and develop relationships and work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills, including verbal, written, organization, project management, and time management skills.
- A willingness to take initiative, exercise adaptability, pay attention to details, and use sound judgment to work towards solutions and innovation.
