Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Support Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance to our employees, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and contribute to maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment. This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing startup in Austin.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to employees via phone, email, and in person, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktop computers, laptops, printers, and applications.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of new workstations and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of IT assets and software licenses.
- Manage user accounts and access permissions in various systems (e.g., Google, Atlassian).
- Document IT issues and resolutions in a knowledge base or ticketing system.
- Provide support for video conferencing and other collaboration tools.
- Experience with SOC 2 compliance. Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software (Windows and macOS), and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and other common business applications.
- Experience with user account management and basic security principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and documentation practices
- Awareness of security best practices and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
- Basic knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
