Description
Primary mechanical function for molding, tooling rebuilding, scoring, lining and printers, material transport, material handling equipment and other auxiliary equipment will be:
- Mechanical repair of equipment
- Preventative maintenance on equipment
- Equipment problem solving/trouble shooting
- Tooling rebuilds
- Mechanical duties/assignments as directed
Work Schedule: 8 hour days, with overtime available.
Qualifications
Must have three to five years experience from apprenticeship or job training programs is considered best entry in this position.
Must have basic math skills, spatial perception, mechanical principles and technical knowledge to visualize arrangement and relationships of static or moving parts and assemblies represented in blueprints and diagrams.
Essential Job Functions:

- Maintain equipment in all phases of the manufacturing operation in proper and efficient running condition
- Compile necessary records or samples to determine causes of downtime (i.e. machine repair logs)
- Operate hand tools and power tools as needed
- Show competency in performing a variety of tasks requiring a thorough knowledge of Tools Assembly, Manufacturing Process and Inspection Techniques
- Maintain PM records and other pertinent information
- Perform preventative maintenance duties as scheduled
- Maintain orderly and safe work area through use of 5S
- Maintain min/max level of rebuilt parts inventory
- Verify conformance of parts to stock lift and blueprints using inspection equipment and recording data as needed
- Assist in the establishment of control limits so that inefficient machines can be monitored and repaired
- Work with Crib Specialist to investigate high parts usage
- Maintain reports in both Excel and NFI to monitor downtime and its relationship to tool usage
- Perform minor fabrication using sheet metal and polycarbonate
- Perform minor functions that require using a Mig/Tig Welder and a Plasma cutter
- Demonstrate awareness of and compliance with all pertinent safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a professional, clean and organized work environment
- Participate in work related training programs
