We are seeking a Business Architecture Support Specialist who will support our client in documenting and developing a future state business architecture for the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP) as part of the broader Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) modernization effort. This position involves working closely with stakeholders to facilitate workshops, develop comprehensive documentation, and ensure alignment with the MITA framework and CMS compliance standards.

We are seeking a Business Architecture Support Specialist who will support our client in documenting and developing a future state business architecture for the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP) as part of the broader Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) modernization effort. This position involves working closely with stakeholders to facilitate workshops, develop comprehensive documentation, and ensure alignment with the MITA framework and CMS compliance standards.
Duties
- Support planning and development of materials to facilitate workshops for reviewing and validating Business Architecture artifacts and deliverables.
- Prepare and facilitate business architecture workshops with various stakeholders across the client organization.
- Develop, review, and update comprehensive documentation, including business architecture artifacts like context models and process maps.
- Analyze and summarize documentation on business processes, workflows, and system requirements, identifying and assessing gaps.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document pain points and their root causes.
- Ensure produced artifacts align with MITA framework and CMS compliance standards.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams, business units, and clients to ensure clear understanding of stakeholders’ goals and specific needs.
- Provide recommendations for process improvement in alignment with program goals and guiding principles.
- Provide timely and qualitative updates to the team and team leads as needed.
- Contribute to team tasks, documentation preparation, and provide support to the immediate and larger team as required.
- 8 years’ experience with large-scale Healthcare solutions.
- 3 years of general IT system experience and formal training/education.
- 3 years’ experience in enterprise systems or projects.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Hands-on experience and expertise in documenting, maintaining, and updating business architecture artifacts, including complex business process workflows.
- Successful track record of organizing, preparing, conducting, and following up on workshops with diverse stakeholders to review/validate/approve business architecture artifacts.
- Proficiency in evaluating current-state business architecture documentation, particularly within large-scale state healthcare programs.
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with the team, project leadership, and client stakeholders.
- Track record of efficiency, attention to detail, responsiveness, flexibility, and ability to learn, adapt, and work on feedback.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and deliver quality output while being part of a larger team.
- Experience with the EA tool iServer.
- Experience with New York's state systems like eMedNY, NYSOH, APD, and others.
- Certifications and experience with process improvement techniques (such as Lean Six Sigma, Agile, PDCA cycles, and Kanban), TOGAF, Project Management, Business Analysis, ITIL, or similar.
- Master’s Degree.
- Technical certifications and experience such as ITIL Service Management, CompTIA certifications, Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS certifications, or areas such as IT Governance, IT Auditing, IT Risk Management.
