Overview:
As a Business System Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the agency's business systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure. You will collaborate with developers and business subject matter experts to derive requirements, analyze information, and document future system requirements. Your expertise will contribute to integrating the agency's current state with its ideal future state, following industry-standard techniques and practices.
Duties
- Collaborate with developers and business subject matter experts to derive requirements resulting from architectural decisions.
- Evaluate and reconcile information gathered from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity.
- Decompose high-level information into details, abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Suggest criteria for evaluating and accepting requirements for system go-live.
- Analyze requirements to ensure they satisfy the objectives of higher-level requirements, confirming completeness, feasibility, and verifiability.
- Identify requirements with significant influence on cost, schedule, functionality, risk, or performance.
- Obtain commitment to and prioritize requirements from project participants.
- Maintain requirements traceability to ensure consistency and alignment.
- Understand and document personas and user experience research reports.
- Develop experience maps, user journeys, and user flows.
- Build user experience wireframes and interactive prototypes.
- Create visual designs to enhance user experience.
- Plan and track application testing, collaborating with testing leads to develop requirements-based testing considerations and strategies.
- Validate resolution of business problems and realization of business requirements.
- Manage defects by assessing their disposition and assigning them to the appropriate process for resolution.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences.
- 7 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years experience in performing requirements gathering, business analysis, and producing written documentation of requirements, system design, and implementation.
- 7 years of experience in requirements elicitation and documentation, capturing needs, expectations, constraints, and external interfaces using various methods.
- 7 years of experience in translating needs, expectations, and interfaces into a format understandable to both clients and technologists.
- 7 years experience in establishing evaluation criteria, managing requirements scope, and obtaining commitment to requirements.
- 7 years of experience in requirement analysis and validation, ensuring completeness, feasibility, and verifiability.
- 7 years of experience representing requirements textually and visually to communicate effectively.
- 7 years of experience with system development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and modeling techniques/tools.
