Overview:
We are seeking a Cloud Database Administration (DBA) who will support our client. The Database Administration (DBA) will focus on database management, design, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large datasets, ensuring data integrity, and implementing efficient database solutions across cloud environments.
Duties:

Design, implement, and optimize database structures, including tables, indexes, and partitions for improved performance and scalability.

Manage database partitioning strategies to enhance query performance and data organization.

Ensure effective table design, normalization, and relationship definitions to maintain data integrity and efficiency.

Implement and manage sequences for generating unique numeric values, ensuring consistency across relational databases.

Develop and execute physical and logical backup strategies to support disaster recovery and business continuity.

Perform data refreshes from production to lower environments (development, testing) in PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, ensuring availability and reliability.

Work closely with development teams to support database-related activities, including schema design and query optimization.

Implement security best practices and compliance measures for database management.
Mandatory Skills/Experience:

8 years of relevant experience.

Strong understanding of database objects, including tables and indexes.

Senior-level experience with partitioning for managing large datasets.

Senior-level experience in table design, including normalization and data modeling.

Experience with sequences for primary key generation and data consistency.

Expertise in physical and logical backups, ensuring data integrity and recovery capabilities.

Hands-on experience with data refresh procedures from production to lower environments in PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL, etc.).
Desirable Skills/Experience:

Familiarity with database automation and scripting for deployment and maintenance.

Experience with performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.

Knowledge of security best practices for database management.

Prior experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
