Our client has an immediate need for a knowledgeable and talented Cloud Security Engineer. This position would be responsible for all aspects of Azure cloud security including implementation of security controls, Identity and access management
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Azure Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and compliance of our Azure environment, safeguarding critical business assets, and supporting our overall cybersecurity strategy. This position would be responsible for implementing, maintaining and designing a secure Azure Cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage security solutions in Azure to protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct security assessments and audits of Azure-based systems, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Assist security team with incident response in the Azure environment, leveraging tools such as Azure Security Center and Sentinel.
- Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and best practices that align with business workflows.
- Collaborate with various IT teams to ensure secure deployment of resources and environments within Azure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or 5 years of equivalent hands-on experience in Azure security engineering or cloud security roles.)
- Knowledge of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and cloud provider platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Strong understanding of Azure security tools, such as Azure Security Center, Defender for cloud, Azure Sentinel, and Key Vault.
- Proficiency in identity and access management (IAM) and role-based access control (RBAC) within Azure.
- Experience with network security configurations, including network security groups, DDoS protection, and securing virtual networks.
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Logic Apps) for security and auditing tasks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
