What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Architect position at Cloud Destinations?
We are looking for an L3 Network Engineer to work on-site in Bay City, TX.
The L3 Network Engineer will involved in architecture, design and new deployments, system upgrades, migration projects, and responding to trouble tickets. This person will be responsible for working off of high-level designs to complete the setup, configuration, and deployment of Cisco switches, FortiGate firewalls and wireless access points/controllers. They will also be creating project documentation and user manuals, so strong communication and documentation skills are required. The expectation is that this person can quickly jump in and find answers/solutions as they move from the project building phase to plant test/run, then to production.
Required skills:
- Familiarity or skills to quickly become familiar with existing LAN, WAN, Firewalls.
- Perform Design and Architecture, Support the project as highest priority to ensure the office and productive networks are working, troubleshoot issues and resolve within very short timeframes.
- Implement wireless controller in Bay City locations as well as "guest wireless"
- Document changes, validate/update current network documentation.
- Onsite required - preference is to have someone onsite at least Tue, Wed, Thu, with times that 5 days will be required.
- When not addressing primary project topics, focus will be on supporting other regional network issues and acting as the internal SME guiding both ISP for outages as well as the MSP monitoring Team.
- Experience working within a Manufacturing Plant environment is a plus.
