What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Security Specialist position at Cloud Ingenuity?
We are seeking a skilled Physical Security Technician in the Plano, Texas area to install, troubleshoot, and maintain Alarms, Access Control Systems, Video Surveillance (CCTV), and other low-voltage security solutions.
As a Technician in the field, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems in commercial and industrial settings. Your work will involve:
- Mounting and wiring access control panels, alarm systems, and security cameras
- Running, terminating, and testing low voltage cabling (CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics) Certification testing of copper and fiber cable runs.
- Configuring and integrating Verkada security solutions, ensuring proper system functionality
- Performing diagnostics and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues
- Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians to meet project deadlines
Customer Service & Collaboration:
This role requires strong communication and customer service skills. You will interact with external customers on-site, ensuring systems are installed professionally and meet client expectations. Additionally, you will work alongside internal stakeholders such as project managers and team leads to ensure seamless project execution.
Technical requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in low-voltage installation and service
- Running different types of cable (CAT6, banana cable, 2-wire) through open and closed ceiling settings
- Ability to pay close attention to labeling cables and ports
- Mounting devices to steel, in ceiling tile to both interior and exterior walls using various types of hardware
- Installation of flex and rigid conduit with some conduit cutting and bending according to National Electrical Codes
- Proficient computer skills and tablet use
- Ability to take initiative to complete assigned project tasks
- Demonstrate high quality workmanship, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of reading blueprints for installation
- Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting Access Control Systems
- Hands-on experience with Video Surveillance Systems
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, PoE switches, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Understanding of low-voltage wiring codes and regulations.
- Experience and certifications with Verkada a plus.
- Knowledge in fluke or trend network testing equipment a plus.
Non-technical requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work at various heights, climb ladders, scissor lifts, work in construction type environments and operate power tools.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Texas DPS Security Systems Installer license.
- Willingness to work on-site, travel within the State of Texas, and work flexible hours when needed.

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
