What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accessibility Tester (1099/W2) position at CloudIngest?
The Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) Accessibility Tester ensures that the Integrated Eligibility Systems meet accessibility standards and provide an inclusive user experience. The ADA Tester ensures that websites, applications, and other digital content comply with the ADA and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) by identifying and resolving accessibility issues, using assistive technologies, and collaborating with developers to improve the user experience for individuals with disabilities.
Key Deliverables/Responsibilities
- Conduct manual and automated testing of Integrated Eligibility systems, ensuring compliance with ADA, WCAG, and other relevant accessibility standards for Eligibility and Interfaces modules.
- Define and implement testing strategies that ensure comprehensive coverage of accessibility requirements across the system lifecycle.
- Ensure that systems meet accessibility guidelines and legal requirements, including screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, color contrast, and other accessibility considerations
- Work with developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers to identify accessibility issues early in the design and development phases and provide recommendations for improving the user experience.
- Document accessibility issues clearly and provide actionable recommendations for remediation. Create test plans, test cases, and test reports to track progress and verify fixes.
- Assist development teams in addressing identified accessibility issues, offering guidance on how to resolve them following best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest accessibility standards, tools, and techniques to ensure ongoing compliance and improve system accessibility.
- Perform testing to ensure that end-users with disabilities can effectively interact with the system, collaborating with real users when necessary to verify accessibility fixes.

Qualifications
- Strong understanding of ADA, WCAG, and other accessibility standards and guidelines.
- 10 years of experience in Software Application Testing and SDET functions, including the development and execution of automated test scripts for integrated systems.
- Strong knowledge of web accessibility best practices, including screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, and color contrast requirements.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Accessibility Testing tools.
- 3 years of experience in both manual and automated accessibility testing for web-based systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers.
- Strong communication skills to report accessibility issues and provide clear, actionable recommendations for remediation.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accessibility testing efforts in a fast-paced environment.
