HIRING - Press Brake Lead - Decatur, AL
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 pm(Monday - Friday)
Position Summary
The Press Brake Lead is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing daily press brake production activities. This role involves coordinating workflow, supporting press brake operators, and performing brake operations to produce parts that meet quality standards and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate workflow using the Work Center Dispatch Report in due date order.
- Assist operators with setups, tooling changes, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure operators are properly trained and working safely and efficiently.
- Communicate production status, issues, and progress to the Operations Manager.
- Collaborate with Engineering on first articles and new projects.
- Operate, set up, and maintain mechanical or pneumatic press brakes.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using basic measuring tools.
- Maintain accurate records and follow quality and safety procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 10 years of press brake experience.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and routers.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Physical Requirements
- Stand and grip frequently, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Push/pull and maintain balance while working around equipment.
- Perform occasional bending, reaching, and walking.
- Vision requirements include depth perception, close/distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
