Job Summary:
Hands-on Front of House Supervisor
In addition to the regular front of house duties of serving customers, making and serving drinks, maintaining a clean and tidy dining room/bar, we are looking for someone to oversee all front of house operations: staff management; ordering FOH supplies and drinks/inventory control; overseeing our technical/computer operations: POS system, credit card terminal, online ordering, menu updates, website updates; engage in basic regular Social Media marketing>
We are a restaurant and cafe serving fresh 'California cuisine' - breakfast and lunch (every day) and dinner (thur - sun) in a beautiful country setting with outdoor seating, orchard, and vegetable/herb gardens. Our customers are a mix of locals and tourists visiting the surrounding lakes, rivers and nature.
We are seeking a hands-on Front of House Supervisor with a professional, positive and friendly manner.

Responsibilities:
- Managing and training front of house team - ensuring a high level of customer service, scheduling, budgeting, training, hiring
- Exceptional Customer service - understanding, communicating and promoting our brand
- Business development - working with owner to find creative ways to expand and promote the business, understanding and supporting our business aims and goals
- Ordering and Stock Control: bar supplies, paper goods, coffees, teas, juices, etc
- Dish washing area - overseeing correct standards of cleaning and polishing front of house utensils - glasses, plates, cutlery; overseeing a high standard of cleanliness, organization and tidy work areas
- Ensuring a harmonious work environment with kitchen and front staff
Requirements:
- Previous experience in management in the food industry is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of espresso machine and coffee making a plus; knowledge of/ interest in wines and craft beers a plus
- Knowledge of technical systems in the industry and ease in navigating these systems; basic computing skills; knowledge of social media platforms and ease in navigating
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a team
